What is the core material of Staple Fiber Geotextile? What are the fundamental differences between it and Filament geotextile?

The core material of Staple Fiber Geotextile is polyester (PET) short fibres (length 20–50 mm) or polypropylene (PP) short fibres, which are combed into a web and then formed by needle punching to intertwine the fibres.

Key differences from filament geotextiles:

Fibre form: short fibres are cut into discrete fibres, while  filament geotextiles are continuous fibres without joints.

Performance focus:Staple Fiber Geotextile have better permeability (more uniform pore distribution) and lower costs, but their tensile strength and tear resistance are slightly lower than those of  filament geotextiles. filament geotextiles, on the other hand, have higher strength and are suitable for high-strength engineering projects.

Applicable scenarios: Short fibres are suitable for filtration, drainage, and general isolation scenarios; long fibres are suitable for reinforcement and high-stress engineering.
